The Andalusian Gin made with orange blossom and peppermint.
Cadiz was the most important centre for spirits production in southern Europe in the 17th century.
There, Juan de Wint (Knight of the Order of Calatrava) and Margarita de Lila, both of Flemish origin, dedicated themselves to the maritime trade. With their marriage in 1645, one of the largest commercial shipping companies in the province of Cadiz was founded.
The Wint & Lila company was in charge of transporting alcohol for medicinal uses from the traditional distilleries in the Guadalquivir Valley to northern Europe. This alcohol gave rise to the Dutch Genever, which the English would later replicate in the famous London Dry Gin due to the way it was distilled.
Today, the brand rescues the origins of artisanal distillation and the slow maceration of botanicals, where the unique Andalusian flavours of orange blossom and mint stand out.
We make our gins with local ingredients, according to the tradition of distillation at the “Real Fábrica de Aguardientes y Licores de El Puerto de Santa María” (Andalusia, Spain).
We appreciate the 18th-century production methods, that guaranteed the purity of distillates and botanicals.
A natural and fully sustainable product needs time. Time for the perfect maceration, for the individual distillation, for the ideal blend… Patience leads to good decisions. To good gins.
We are enterprising and determined to carry forward a gin like this one, made in a corner of Andalusia. We count on the daring of the sailors who set sail from Cádiz to discover new trade routes and bring back the longed- for spices.
We are really committed to the environment and to local production.
